Self-Subs Progress Reconciliation for Monday Follow-up

Context

The Self-Subs status report had stated 0.5 / 17.5 md (3%). A cross-check against Jira Epic BIF-8639 and the repository task breakdown showed that this was not a reliable current progress reading.

Notes

  • The 0.5 md originated from the RFC estimate for BIF-8790 (Task 2.1 migration), which is Done and recorded as merged through hub-core PR #8007 (9581b9ebe0).
  • BIF-8639 also shows BIF-8791, BIF-8792, BIF-8793, and BIF-8802 as Done. Together with BIF-8790, their Jira-description estimates form a ~3.5-md Jira-Done candidate set.
  • Jira carries no original estimates or worklogs for those issues. Their description estimates therefore remain inputs requiring DRI confirmation.
  • A local code-evidence check on 2026-07-26 confirmed all five candidate issues merged: BIF-8790 via hub-core PR #8007 (9581b9ebe0); BIF-8791 via hub-core PR #8020 (1a6e2a5a7c); BIF-8792 via hub-service PR #3055 (a2e237fc8) and hub-core PR #8022 (63143e8c6c); BIF-8793 via hub-service PR #3056 (ada19b041), hub-core commit d3afe1ce8f, and moderator-be PR #2345 (e454ff13); and BIF-8802 via hub-service PR #3061 (9b8350077). Each commit is an ancestor of origin/production, or origin/master for moderator-be.
  • BIF-8802 had previously been verified only on release branch 0.267.0; it is now on hub-service production, so that release-landing caveat is closed.
  • BIF-8803 and BIF-8804 are Won't Fix and are excluded. BIF-8970, the replacement Go port, is In Review and receives no completion credit. PXL-9379 is Done design work but is outside the current FE/BE/QA denominator.
  • The 17.5-md denominator is stale. The RFC reduced it to 14 md on 2026-07-01, then Jira introduced BIF-8970 and reintroduced SS-S05 as BIF-8996, so the current Jira scope no longer maps cleanly to either estimate.

Decisions / changes

  • The 0.5 / 17.5 md (3%) snapshot was withdrawn.
  • Official progress, discipline effort, and forecast are withheld until the Jira task map and RFC scope are reconciled and re-estimated. The merged-code portion of the evidence gap is closed.
  • The withheld state is reflected in the 2026-07-23 status report, initiative README, roadmap rollup, and delivery timeline.

Follow-ups

  • Raise this on Monday, 2026-07-27.
  • Confirm which of BIF-8791, BIF-8792, BIF-8793, and BIF-8802 have merged-code evidence. Completed 2026-07-26: all four are merged to the relevant production branches.
  • Reconcile BIF-8970, BIF-8996, and the BIF-8803/BIF-8804 redirects against the RFC task breakdown.
  • Ask the DRI to provide revised BE/FE/QA estimates; then recompute canonical progress and the commitment forecast.
