Meta Business Agent Integration

Make Qontak the place customers run Meta Business Agent (MBA) — Meta's hosted AI agent that, when enabled, becomes the primary responder on a WhatsApp number and relegates the business app (Qontak) to a standby observer.

Today Qontak does not process the standby or messaging_handovers webhook fields and has no Thread Control client: if a customer enables MBA directly in WhatsApp Manager, their Qontak inbox goes partially blind and an agent who takes over can never hand the conversation back. This initiative closes that gap in three phases: (1) MBA-aware foundation (standby persistence, control state, take-over/hand-back in the inbox), (2) MBA management (eligibility, onboarding, settings, and config sync from the existing AI agent builder — no second builder), and (3) connector gateway + test/eval (MBA executes Qontak-hosted actions; existing test cases run against Meta's agent test/eval APIs).

Strategic context: this is Track 1 (defend/adopt) of the three-track response to Meta's MBA launch and the 1 Oct 2026 service-message pricing change. Phase 1 is ungated; Phases 2–3 are gated on MBA general availability + pricing in Indonesia.
